Nowhere to Go
"Nowhere to Go" is a song about homelessness, which is extremely prevalent today! There is joblessness, drug use, and poverty. I wrote this song about a man, woman, LGBT, and so on. This song talks about a homeless person who is out there every day, with no home to go to. However, even though he or she is in this predicament, the person is optimistic and has a good outlook on life. I have experienced homelessness firsthand, so I know exactly what it's like to have nowhere to go!
Overcast Day
I'm here all alone, with nowhere to go.
Nowhere to walk to, no one to talk to.
I have no home. So, I must roam.
I'm here on the street, on my own two feet.
Where I went wrong, I don't know. I had a good life; I was starting to grow.
I had a life more precious than gold. I thought I would have it when I grow old!
Some people don't know what it's like to be down and out, hanging downtown!
I don't care if it snows tonight. I'll be out here, but I'll be alright!
I walk all day, sleeping at night. I don't have much, so I travel light.
I miss my home and my family: Living the good life, so carefree!
I never thought this would happen to me. How I got here, I just can't see.
I've been out here for so long, but I know that I have to be strong.
Sometimes the nights, they seem so cold. And sleeping on park benches, well it gets so old.
But I know that I'll be alright. God will help me get through this cold night!
I know somehow, I'll find my way, Living the life I had yesterday!
I will Survive
"I Will Survive" takes place anywhere that you are trying to get back from and find your way home. You might be in the wilderness, or you could be stuck in rush hour traffic. In this song, the person is in the desert, trying to find his way back to civilization. Wherever you may find yourself trying to get back from, may you always find your way back home!
Overcast Day
Where do all the buffalo roam? Just where do all the buffalo go?
Out on the open plains. They find the ambrosia that sustains.
It seems they don’t know that I’m alive. But still, I know that I’ll survive.
Gone with the wind. Nature’s my best friend.
I can feel it coming. There’s no sense in running.
Where shall I go? ‘Cause the night’s so cold.
And I still think that all I know is how to survive.
I feel like I’m going insane. The skies are blue and hazy.
What happens when you reach the end of the line? No longer will you see the sunshine.
In the distance, I can see an oasis. I see pools of water in the strangest places.
I know that I’ll survive. Yes, I’m driven to stay alive.
I’m doing all that I can do, to make it through and get back to you.
I’m lost in the strangest place. Away from the human race.
Cactus quenches my thirst. Could this get any worse?
Searching for the sacred manna. Trying to get through this dilemma.
Overcast Day
Do you remember those stormy days, when you just stayed home with your loved one? You would hold him or her tight and spend the night making love, while the lightning flashed and the thunder roared; the rain would come down on the roof and windows. Well, “Overcast Day” is about a lover that loves overcast, rainy days and nights the most, and that’s the time that is most important to him to be with his lover! So, the next time it’s overcast and raining, hold your loved one tight and love her!
lyrics:
The sun has gone away. I hope that you will stay.
You told me that you would be mine. Who cares if the sun doesn’t shine?
You told me that you would stay. Please don’t chase the clouds away.
I don’t see a ray of sun. I want you to be the one.
Come and watch the morning rain. Let me try to ease your pain.
Do you think that you might stay? Especially on a rainy day.
When you’re not here I get so weary. I need you here when the days are dreary.
When the sun doesn’t shine the sky is gray. Stay with me on this cloudy day.
Can’t you see it’s overcast? You loved me in the past. On a day without the sun, you’re the only one.
A cloudy day, you just can’t beat. Stay with me, your love is so sweet.
I swear on the clouds above. You’re the only one that I love.
